Group Services
What We Offer
The following is a general guideline of the group programs we offer at Acorn Psychology, including who each program is for and how it runs.
Our groups are intentionally small, so facilitators can coach, model, and individualize support as each student or child practises new skills. Skills are taught directly and then rehearsed through hands-on activities, discussion, and real-time interaction with peers, rather than learned from a handout.
Not sure which program is the right fit? Reach out and we’ll help you figure out the best next step. Groups are also a natural complement to assessment, as the strengths and challenges identified can guide the skills a child or teen focuses on.

Executive Functioning Coaching Program
A 6-week small-group program for students from grade 6 through post-secondary, tailored for those with ADHD, learning disorders, or executive functioning challenges.
Students build practical skills in organization, time management, prioritization, focus, note-taking, and study and test-taking strategies, with weekly accountability goals to track their progress. -
Social Skills Group
An 8-week small-group program designed to help school-aged children build practical social skills and feel more confident in peer relationships. Through guided practice, role-play, and real-time interaction, children learn to communicate, navigate social situations, solve problems, and build meaningful friendships.
The focus is on understanding social situations and building authentic connections, not on masking or learning one “right” way to be social.
